US$0.96 million New Contract Award - Bridge Protection Project in USA

Westminster Group Plc ('Westminster' or the 'Group'), the AIM listed supplier of managed services and technology based security solutions to governments and government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGO's) and blue chip commercial organisations worldwide, is pleased to announce that its Technology Division has secured a major new contract to help secure an iconic bridge in the United States of America.

The contract, worth approximately US$0.96 million, is to provide advanced detection technology solutions as part of a larger pilot project to protect a section of the bridge against terrorist or criminal attack. Should this initial phase of the project prove successful then the programme will be extended to cover the rest of the bridge and potentially other key structures.

Westminster will commence work and begin deploying resources immediately on this initial project, which is due to be completed this financial year.

In addition, Westminster is pleased to announce that Sovereign Ferries' 200 seat flagship ferry vessel, Sierra Queen, has now arrived in Sierra Leone and the Company will be giving a further update on this exciting new venture in due course.

Commenting on the contract award Peter Fowler, Chief Executive of Westminster Group, said:

"In our Interims announced in September 2014 I reported that, following over twelve months of discussions and negotiations, we had received a letter of intent for this significant and high profile project. I am delighted therefore to now be able to report that, following technical and design consultations, this has resulted in a confirmed order.

"The fact that Westminster was approached to design and provide the specialist solution, bears testament to the reputation and reach of our business.

"I am equally pleased that our Technology Division has secured this latest contract award which continues the division's strong start to 2015. In February 2015, we reported that the Technology Division had secured a number of important contract awards with a combined order value of approximately US$750,000. To date that figure has grown to US$1.48 million and with today's announcement the division has secured approximately US$2.44 million of confirmed orders in the first four months of 2015."
