Associated British Foods plc (the 'Company') is pleased to announce today that Dr Wolfhart Hauser has been appointed as a non-executive director of the Company with effect from 14 January 2015. 

Wolfhart Hauser is currently Chief Executive Officer of Intertek Group plc. Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer and President of TÜV Süddeutschland AG and Chief Executive Officer of TÜV Product Services. Starting his career with various research activities, he went on to establish and lead a broad range of successful international service industry businesses. He has held several non-executive board director and chairman roles in a variety of technology companies. He was a non-executive director of Logica plc from 2007 to 2012. He is currently a non-executive director of Reed Elsevier Group PLC and Reed Elsevier NV.

The Company confirms that there are no further details to disclose under paragraphs 9.6.13R (1) of the Listing Rules in respect of this new director.
