TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Close Brothers Group plc (the 'Company') announces that on 30 September 2014 it transferred 2,578 ordinary shares of 25 pence each from treasury to participants in its employee share plans.  The transfer price was 654.48 pence.  Following the transfer of these shares, the Company holds 1,711,945 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 148,912,348 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
