Directors' Shareholdings

Versarien plc (AIM: VRS), the advanced engineering materials group, announces that Charles Stanley Securities has on 16 September 2014 undertaken a placing of 1,125,000 Versarien ordinary shares (representing 1.07 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital).  750,000 shares were sold on behalf of Mr. Neill Ricketts, Chief Executive Officer and 375,000 shares on behalf of Mr. William Battrick, Chief Technical Officer.  The shares were placed in response to demand from institutional investors at a price of 29.5 pence per share.

Following the placing Mr. Ricketts retains a holding of 15,250,000 Versarien ordinary shares representing approximately 14.5 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company, together with options over a further 528,720 ordinary shares (0.5 per cent. of the issued share capital).  Mr. Battrick retains a holding of 7,625,000 Versarien ordinary shares representing approximately 7.2 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company and options over a further 528,720 ordinary shares (0.5 per cent. of the issued share capital) .
