TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Close Brothers Group plc (the 'Company') announces that on 22 July 2014 it transferred 1,864 ordinary shares of 25 pence each from treasury to participants in its employee share plans.  The transfer price was 590 pence.  Following the transfer of these shares, the Company holds 1,724,960 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 148,897,623 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
