Pursuant to DTR 5.6.1 the Company announces that today it issued 18,999,527 shares held in treasury at 78.5p per share. These shares will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares in issue but will not be entitled to the dividend with ex-dividend and record dates of 7 May 2014 and 9 May 2014 respectively.
The total number of ordinary shares in issue stands at 1,238,794,000, and the total number of voting rights in the Company is 1,216,348,385. This figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
Following the issue, the Company will have 22,445,615 shares held in Treasury.
