TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Close Brothers Group plc (the 'Company') announces that on 21 March 2014 it transferred 6,551 ordinary shares of 25 pence each from treasury to participants in its employee share plans.  The transfer price was nil pence.  Following the transfer of these shares, the Company holds 1,760,121 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 148,862,462 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
