Death of non-executive director

Begbies Traynor Group plc ("the company") regrets to announce the death of Graham McInnes, non-executive director of the company, after a short illness.

The board extends its deepest condolences and sympathies to Mr McInnes's family and would like to take this opportunity to express its thanks for his significant contribution to the company.

Graham joined the board in 2004, initially as finance director and subsequently as corporate development director.  He was a key part of the management team which listed the company on AIM in September 2004 and since July 2012 has served as a non-executive director and member of the remuneration and audit committees, together with being the senior independent non-executive director since 2018.

Ric Traynor, executive chairman of Begbies Traynor Group plc, said:

"We are all deeply saddened by this news.  Graham made a huge contribution to the company and the board. I have personally worked with Graham for over 30 years and he was both a friend and gifted colleague whose experience and understanding of financial and commercial matters was invaluable.  Both the board and I will miss his wise counsel, vast experience and friendship. On behalf of the board, and everyone at the company, I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family, friends and colleagues."

The role of senior independent non-executive director will be assigned to another of the board's non-executive directors in due course.
