United Utilities appoints Independent Non-Executive Director

United Utilities Group PLC announces the appointment of Kath Cates as a non-executive director with effect from 1 September 2020. On appointment, Kath will become a member of the Company's Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

United Utilities' Chairman, Sir David Higgins said:  "We are delighted to announce Kath's appointment as a non-executive director. Her career working in a regulated environment in financial services will provide the board with additional perspective on regulatory matters.  Her experience serving as a non-executive director and as a chair of the remuneration, audit and risk committees in her other roles will contribute to board governance and risk management at United Utilities."

Kath will also be appointed as a non-executive director of United Utilities Water Limited with effect from 1 September 2020. Kath also serves as a non-executive director on the boards of RSA Insurance Group plc and Brewin Dolphin Holdings plc.

There are no further details to disclose under paragraph 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules in relation to Kath Cates.
