Appointment of Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer

The Norman Broadbent Group (AIM: NBB), a leading London quoted Professional Services firm offering a diversified portfolio of integrated Leadership Acquisition & Advisory Services (Board & Leadership Search, Senior Interim Management, Research & Insight, Leadership Consulting & Assessment, and executive-level Talent Solutions) - is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen ('Steve') James Smith as Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") and Chief Operating Officer. He will be joining the Group - and PLC Board - on March 30th, 2020.

Steve, 52, succeeds Will Gerrand who, as announced on 28th February 2020, has decided to pursue other business interests. Will has agreed to remain with the Company for a period to ensure a smooth transition.

Steve, who has extensive experience in finance, recruitment and financial leadership, is a graduate of the University of Kent, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1993, and was admitted to Fellowship of the ICAEW in 2003.

Steve spent five years at Ernst & Young LLP (Southampton and Bermuda) before joining Stirling Cooke Holdings, a Bermuda-based Holding Company for UK and US based Insurance businesses. He subsequently relocated to London in 1997 as UK Finance Director of the group's Lloyds Insurance and Reinsurance broker. 

In 2001, Steve joined CDI Corporation; an NYSE listed staffing group, as UK Finance Director (latterly CFO) and VP Finance EMEA. As CFO in 2016, he co-led an MBO of CDI subsidiary, AndersElite, a national recruitment business with offices throughout the UK. As CFO of AndersElite, he was involved in capital raising, an acquisition and a disposal. In July 2018, he co-led the successful sale of AndersElite to Morson International. Following the sale of AndersElite he worked outside of sector (due to non-compete restrictions) as an Interim FD in aviation and leisure.
