Inchcape plc ('Inchcape' or the 'Group'), the global premium automotive group, today announces that John Langston will join the Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 August 2013. 

Ken Hanna said:

"We are delighted that John has agreed to join the Board as a Non-Executive Director.  His international and automotive experience will be of great benefit to us and I welcome John to the team."

John is a chartered accountant and is currently a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Rexam Plc.

John was based in Germany for twelve years where he served in variety of roles for Lucas Industries Plc including General Manager, European Car Braking Systems Europe.  In 1993, John moved to TI Group as Managing Director, Bundy Europe, and in 1995 he assumed responsibility for Bundy Automotive business as Chief Executive. 

Following the merger of TI and Smiths Group in 2000 John held a variety of roles including Group Managing Director of various divisions and finally Group Finance Director.  During his career he has been involved in financial analysis, operational performance, sales and strategy.   John retired from his role as Group Finance Director of Smiths Group Plc in 2010. 

There is no additional information required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13 relating to the appointment to the Board of John Langston.

It is also confirmed that John will join the Audit Committee upon his appointment and be assume the role of Chairman of the Audit Committee with effect from 1 September 2013.
