ADDITIONAL LISTING

SSE plc (the "Company") announces that application has been made to the UK Listing Authority for the listing of, and to the London Stock Exchange for the admission to trading of, a total of 5,920,120 ordinary shares, pursuant to the allotment of shares under its Scrip Dividend Scheme in respect of the interim dividend for the year ending 31 March 2013.

These new, fully paid shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the Company's existing issued ordinary shares.
