Concurrent Technologies Plc

Product Launch

Optimised solutions now available for users of MicroTCA® systems

with Serial Rapid IO® fabric

Concurrent Technologies Plc (the "Company"), a world leading specialist in the design and manufacture of high-end embedded computer products for critical applications in the defence, aerospace, telecommunications, transportation, scientific and industrial markets, is pleased to announce the launch of its latest high performance MicroTCA®  processor board, the AM 94x/x1x, with support for FIN-S across the Serial RapidIO® networked backplane.

This combination of the Company's hardware and software products has demonstrably shown a high bandwidth and low latency solution which utilizes about 5% of the CPU's bandwidth and provides an excellent opportunity for PowerPC® users who use Serial RapidIO® backplane networking to advance to Intel® Core™ i7 processor technology. This hardware and software combination is suitable for applications where a large number of computing nodes are required to intercommunicate at high data rates and with minimum latency.

Glen Fawcett, Managing Director, Concurrent Technologies Plc, commented:

"Users can take advantage of the boards' processing power, high performance backplane fabric connectivity and the peer-to-peer networking performance of Serial RapidIO® to develop large multiprocessing systems. This enhanced solution is particularly well suited to telecommunications applications such as IPTV, digital media servers, media gateways, broadband, Long Term Evolution (LTE) or LTE-Advanced, wireless base stations as well as in test systems for wireline and wireless networks."
