DS SMITH PLC BOARD CHANGES

DS Smith Plc, the leading supplier of recycled packaging, announces the following Board change.

Chris Britton

Chris Britton will join the Board of DS Smith Plc as a non-Executive Director on 6 March 2013.  Chris has considerable experience in the international consumer brand sector.

Until 31 December 2012 he was CEO of the Findus Group, a privately owned frozen and chilled food company, having previously been an executive board member and President of the Baby Division of Royal Numico until its acquisition by Danone in November 2007.  Before that he worked for Diageo for 20 years in various marketing and general management positions, including his final role as global marketing director of Diageo.

Chris is also a non-executive director of Alliance Boots GmbH.

Gareth Davis, Chairman of DS Smith, said:

"I am very pleased that Chris is joining our Board.  He brings valuable skills to the table and will strengthen our non-executive team."

As required by the Listing Rules, it is confirmed that there are no details to be disclosed pursuant to LR 9.6.13 R (1) to (6).  Mr Britton does not currently hold any shares in the Company.
