Announcement of transaction in ordinary shares by a Director/PDMR

The Company was today informed that on 21 January 2013 John Hutson, CEO of JD Wetherspoon plc sold 6,000 of the company's ordinary shares at a price of 502p per share.

Following this transaction, the number of shares held by John Hutson is 37,103 ordinary shares in the Company.
