Appointment of Non Executive Director and Audit Committee Chairman

The Board of Greggs plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Allison Kirkby as an independent non-executive director with effect from 30 January 2013.

Allison is currently Chief Financial Officer of Shine Group, the global media production company, having joined them in September 2011. Prior to that Allison served as Virgin Media's Executive Director of Finance Operations and Transformation, and before that spent two decades with Procter & Gamble in a variety of senior financial and operational roles. Allison is also a trustee and Chair of the Finance Committee of In Kind Direct, one of The Prince's Charities, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

The Board intends that Allison will take over the Chair of the Audit Committee, when Ian Durant is appointed as Board Chairman following the Annual General Meeting on 15 May 2013.

Greggs' Chairman, Derek Netherton, said:  "We are very pleased to welcome Allison to the Board. She will bring additional financial expertise and experience, and her background in consumer brand businesses and media organisations will be of great value in the next phase of the development of our brand."

Listing Rule 9.6.13R (1) to (6) Disclosure

There are no matters required by paragraphs 9.6.13R (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules to be disclosed in relation to Allison Kirkby.
