In accordance with the financial transparency rules and legislation, JPMorgan Asset Management Holdings Inc. has notified Solvay that on November 21, 2012 the total participation of its various affiliates has passed the threshold of 3% of the shares issued by Solvay S.A.

The group JPMorgan Asset Management Holdings Inc. held 2,562,505 Solvay shares on November 21, 2012 through the following affiliates:

JPMorgan Asset Management UK Ltd	1,185,882 Solvay shares
JPMorgan, Investment Management Inc.	1,133,893 Solvay shares
JPMorgan Asset Management (Taiwan)	7,464 Solvay shares
JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association	235,266 Solvay shares

This amounts to a total of 2,562,505 shares or 3.03% of the shares issued by Solvay S.A.
