PRESS RELEASE

17 September 2014

Roularta acquires 100 % of DSDW and Roularta Printing

Roularta Media Group, which is quoted on the stock exchange, as well as the media company Concentra have reached an agreement regarding the publishing company DSDW and NV Roularta Printing.

Roularta takes over the 20% and 24% of the DSDW and Roularta Printing shares, previously owned by Concentra.

DSDW publishes De Streekkrant and De Zondag.

As a free local newspaper De Streekkrant reaches 100% of the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium with a group of 50 local newspapers, which equals about three million readers in total.

De Zondag is distributed each Sunday in the entire Dutch-speaking part of Belgium by way of a network of nearly 4,000 distribution points – chiefly baker's – reaching 1,5 million readers.

They are the biggest newspapers in the country.

De Streekkrant is printed in heat set by Roularta Printing in Roeselare, whilst De Zondag is printed in cold set by Coldset Printing Partners in Beringen-Paal and Groot-Bijgaarden.

DSDW achieves a gross turnover of approximately 100 million euro.

Roularta Printing is the largest printer in the country with a turnover of over 100 million euro. It disposes of entirely renovated machinery characterized among others by the largest heat set rotation press in the world (128 pages tabloid in one run in full colour on magazine paper). 70 % of the capacity consists of the group's own Belgian, French and Dutch newspapers and magazines. 30% consists of periodicals and brochures by fellow publisher's and customers from Belgium and abroad.

Roularta focuses on its core business and acquires 100% ownership of Roularta Printing, De Streekkrant and De Zondag. Both newspapers are part of Roularta Local Media, next to the free lifestyle magazine Steps (also distributed in Flanders through 16 regional editions) and the fast growing digital business Digilocal (full service for the online advertiser through Google Adwords, Proxistore, websites, Facebook pages, emailings…).
