Release according to § 26 para 1 sentence 1 WpHG

BlackRock Financial Management, Inc., New York, USA, BlackRock Holdco 2, Inc., Wilmington, Delaware, USA and BlackRock, Inc., New York, USA have notified us on September 10, 2010 pursuant to § 21 para 1 and § 24 WpHG as follows:

1. On September 06, 2010 the percentage holding of the voting rights of BlackRock Financial Management, Inc. in BASF SE exceeded the threshold of 5% and amounts to 5.17% (47.441.547 voting shares) on that day.

All of the voting rights are attributable to BlackRock Financial Management, Inc. pursuant to § 22 para 1 sentence 1 no 6 in connection with sentence 2 WpHG.

1. On September 06, 2010 the percentage holding of the voting rights of BlackRock Holdco 2, Inc. in BASF SE exceeded the threshold of 5% and amounts to 5.17% (47.441.547 voting shares) on that day.

All of the voting rigths are attributable to BlackRock Holdco 2, Inc. pursuant to § 22 para 1 sentence 1 no 6 in connection with sentence 2 WpHG.

1. On September 06, 2010 the percentage holding of the voting rights of BlackRock, Inc. in BASF SE exceeded the threshold of 5% and amounts to 5.35% (49.153.648 voting shares) on that day.

All of the voting rights are attributable to BlackRock, Inc. pursuant to § 22 para 1 sentence 1 no 6 in connection with sentence 2 WpHG.
