Ms. Cynthia Van Hulle is a professor Finance at the Faculty Business and Economics of the KU Leuven University and teaches at the Vlerick Leuven – Gent Management School. She also was a visiting professor at Columbia University (USA) and at the Interuniversity Centre of the association of Belgian financial analysts. During the academic year 2009 – 2010 she held the Francqui – chair at the University of Gent.

Ms. Cynthia Van Hulle holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics of the KU Leuven University, and a Master degree in Business and Financial Economics from the "Vlaamse Economische Hogeschool" of Brussels. She conducted post-doctoral research as a post-doctoral research fellow at Yale University (USA) and also visited the University of Chicago.

Her research and teaching interests and accomplishments are primarily focused on corporate finance, corporate restructuring, corporate governance (including the application thereof in social profit organizations), financial markets and financial engineering. Ms. Van Hulle has also experience providing specific in-house company trainings and programs, and giving specific training programs for foreign students and student-executives. Recent publications related – amongst others – to topics as bankruptcy issues, the functioning of internal capital markets in business organizations, capital restrictions in companies and business governance questions.

Ms. Cynthia Van Hulle currently serves on several policy and decision committees within the KU Leuven University, including the executive committee of the University Press Leuven, the investment committee of the KU Leuven, the bureau of the Business and Economics Faculty at KU Leuven, and is also program director of the Master in Economics, Law and Business Management and of the postgraduate in Finance.

Outside KU Leuven University, Ms. Cynthia Van Hulle currently holds the position of director of WDP (and chairman of the audit committee at WDP), Argent and ArgenCo. She is also a member of the regional committee of the "Studiecentrum voor Bank- en Financiewezen", advisory member of board of VZW Vlaams Pensioenfonds, reference expert of VZW Euroarbitrage, and member of the association of financial analysts of Belgium, member of the academic advisory board of Febelfin and of Guberna. She is also a member of the Belgian Royal Flemish Academy of Science and Art.

Ms. Cynthia Van Hulle held previous positions as chairman of the board of directors of Almancora Beheersmaatschappij N.V. and Ancora VZW, director at Gimvindus N.V., LB-Capital N.V., Finindus N.V. and Werfinvest N.V. Next to these positions she was also a member of the privatization commission of GIMV N.V., the "Hoge Raad van Financiën", the "Vlaamse Raad voor Wetenschapsbeleid" and the regional board (Leuven) of BBL-ING N.V..
