Floridienne Group - Press release – Regulated information – Embargo 30 November 2022 5.40 pm Transmitted on 30 November 2022 5.40 pm
The Life Sciences Division recorded rising sales, with strong demand on its main markets. Biobest has successfully integrated the company Plant Products, acquired in February 2022, one of the main distributors of integrated pest management solutions in Canada and the United States. Biobest is seeing particularly strong growth in North America, where it has the largest beneficial insect production platform. Natix, which unites our activities involving the production and distribution of enzymes, essential oils and snail slime, is benefiting from an increase in demand among its main customers for its natural unique and sustainable products. The Division is having to cope with certain extraordinary costs linked to the inflationary context, in particular energy costs, but nevertheless recorded a sharp rise in EBITDA thanks to strong sales and the successful integration of Plant Products. Biobest is continuing with its ambitious strategy of internal and external growth and, in this context, is currently examining a number of financing possibilities.
The Food Division is having to cope with widespread inflation affecting the cost of ingredients and with supply difficulties impacting certain products. In this inflationary context, exacerbated by the war in Ukraine triggered by the Russian invasion of 24 February 2022, the Division is currently focusing on at least maintaining its margins. The Division's profitability improved during the third quarter thanks to rate increases negotiated with its main customers. However, this remained down at the end of September 2022.
Finally, in the Chemicals Division the operating result is sharply up thanks mainly to our recycling activity (SNAM), which is benefiting from the increase in the volumes of batteries collected and more advantageous purified metals prices. Kimflor, our subsidiary active in the field of PVC stabilisers in Turkey, is developing positively despite a difficult environment.
"Despite the inflation, the rise in energy prices and the supply difficulties that are impacting negatively on the growth of our activities, Floridienne recorded an improvement in its turnover and EBITDA at the end of September. Biobest is benefiting from the successful integration of the companies Beneficial Insectary and Plant Products, which operate on the extremely promising integrated pest management market in North America. The Food Division has obtained rate increases enabling it to stem the erosion of its margins in the third quarter. Finally, the Chemicals Division is benefiting from the development of its subsidiary SNAM, European leader in the collection and recycling of new-generation batteries and a major player in the circular economy. The Floridienne Board of Directors is therefore maintaining its forecasts for a growth in results for the 2022 financial year as a whole", said Gaëtan Waucquez, CEO of the Floridienne Group.
