Banimmo (NYSE Euronext BANI) and Deloitte Belgium have concluded an agreement for the construction of the future regional headquarters of the international audit and consulting group in Ghent. The building will be rented on the basis of a 15 year lease contract.
The land on which the building will be erected is located on the The Loop site in Ghent, between the buildings of Flanders Expo and the R4 (ring road of Ghent).
In 2012, Banimmo had already delivered a building to the Vlaamse Milieu Maatschappij on Field 5 of this site. The building that will be built for the regional headquarters of Deloitte is located on the west-side of Field 5, and will have a total surface of approximately 7,400 sqm on 6 above ground levels. The ground and underground levels will house the entrance and 160 parking spots.
The start of the works is foreseen in the second half-year of 2014, after having obtained the necessary permits.
During the construction of the building, extra attention will be granted to the building's energy performance in order to obtain a very low consumption building that would have a BREEAM « Very Good » score.
The site is geographically ideally located at the intersection of the E40 and E17 motorways and with the Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station that is within easy reach through a convenient tram system.
Jones Lang LaSalle acted as advisor for Banimmo in this transaction.
With this new operation, Banimmo confirms its know-how in developing sustainable buildings based on the « built-to-suit » process that allows to develop new projects while offering flexibility possibilities.
