2G Energy AG / Key word(s): Half Year Results
27.08.2012 / 12:48
– Good growth in H1 2012
– Preconditions created for further growth boost from 2013
– Forthcoming AGM approves dividend payment
Heek, August 27, 2012 – In the first half of 2012, 2G Energy AG (2G) reported further year-on-year revenue growth from EUR 34.2 million to EUR 50.3 million. Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) improved from EUR 1.7 million to around EUR 2.8 million over the same period. As a consequence, the company, one of the leading providers of decentralised energy supply systems, has drawn closer to its objective of achieving a smoother progression of business over the course of the year. Previous years were characterised by a fourth quarter with extremely high production capacity utilisation.
The order book position currently amounts to EUR 79 million, and already reflects the changed circumstances for biogas plants in Germany. As expected, demand in Germany for combined heat and power plants (CHPs) for biogas applications has fallen considerably this year. 2G anticipated this development, and has already successfully compensated for it through having decided to expand its sales of natural gas plants, and its strong positioning on important foreign markets. This is very clear in the current order book position, where half of orders derive from abroad.
AGM approves first dividend payment
Among other agenda items, tomorrow's 2G AGM, on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, will decide concerning its first dividend payment. In this way, the Management and Supervisory boards wish that shareholders, who have enjoyed very strong share price performance over recent years, should also participate directly in the company's success and profitability. A dividend of EUR 0.37 per share is proposed for the 2011 financial year. This proposal is intended to represent the first step towards a long-term dividend policy, and yet still secure the company's future organic growth.
Well-equipped for the future
With a look to the current 2012 financial year, the Management Board continues to assume that revenue will be slightly below the previous year's record level. Following years of dynamic growth, this situation offers the company the welcome opportunity to further optimise internal processes, and to prepare production capacities for the planned future growth. The foundations for rising sales volumes as from the 2013 financial year have also been created through multifaceted sales activities, the launch of new products, as well as internationalisation.
Especially the American companies are reporting very lively order intake. The latest pillar in this context is 2G Manufacturing Inc., which is based at St. Augustine, Florida. As a consequence, 2G is now operating its first own foreign production location, in order to produce directly for the American continent. The production of the first 'Made in the USA' 2G systems is already in full swing, while further sales successes are being reported from other promising foreign markets in East Europe and Asia.
2G will publish further details about the first half of 2012 as part of an extensive interim report on September 30, 2012.
