National Power Transmission Company Transelectrica S.A. informs the shareholders and the investing public on the fact that The memorandum of understanding to perform a feasibility study for the construction of a direct current high voltage line and the conversion stations on the territory of Romania (HVDC) has been signed with Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA), Meridiam SAS, E-INFRA (ELECTROGRUP INFRASTRUCTURE SA) and FLUOR TRANSWORLD.

On October 16, 2023 the Project was submitted by Transelectrica together with MAVIR (Hungary's power transmission operator) as promotors to be included on the 2024 edition in the Ten Years Networks Development Plan (TYNDP). Following the assessment stage of the eligibility conditions established by ENTSO-E the project will enter in the stage of analysis of costs and benefits at the European level, process that shall be carried out within ENTSO-E through the uniform application of the same methodology and the same scenarios established for the estimation of the future evolution of electricity production and consumption at European level.
