Communiqué: TEL – founder member of Romania's Association for Relations with Stock Exchange Investors (ARIR)

The National Power Grid Company Transelectrica SA informs it is one of the 11 founder members of Romania's Association for Relations with Stock Exchange Investors (ARIR). The other 10 founder members are listed companies, companies possibly listed, fund administrators and professionals liaising with investors, namely: Bucharest Stock Exchange, National Company Nuclearelectrica, ALRO, Franklin Templeton Investments - Bucharest Branch, Electromagnetica, Hidroelectrica, Teraplast, Daniela Serban, Cosmin Raduta and Tony Romani.

"Listing the National Power Grid Company Transelectrica SA in 2006 was a first for Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), it being the first national and strategic company transacted on the Stock Exchange. In this respect we sustain ARIR's initiative as beneficial step to consolidate the relation with investors of CNTEE Transelectrica SA. Applying good practice in investor relations by means of instruments such as transparency and uninterrupted fair communication with investors characterises the Company's good decisions", stated Adrian Constantin RUSU, Directorate Chairman of CNTEE Transelectrica SA.

Mr. Viorel VASIU, Directorate Member represents CNTEE Transelectrica SA in ARIR's Board of Directors.

ARIR is non-governmental non-profit organisation established with a view to provide current and potential issuers a platform to develop professionals in investor relations (IR) and to contribute to implementing the best corporative governance into the communication with investors.

The Association will perform activities focused on five strategic lines, with the following objectives:

• Evaluation Periodical measurement of investors' perceptions of listed companies;
• Presentation Improving the presentation of listed companies;
• Regulation Monitoring the legislative framework and sustaining member opinions;
• Communication Consolidating the relations and improving the dialogue with investors and analysts;
• Recognition Promoting the companies that implement the best practice;
