April 1, 2010 -- NYSE Euronext (NYX) today announced the appointment of Mark MacGann to the position of Senior Vice President, Head of European Government Affairs and Public Advocacy. Mr. MacGann will take office on 6 April and will be based in Brussels. He will report to John K. Halvey, General Counsel and Group Executive Vice President, NYSE Euronext.
"Mark's successful career in the public and private sectors and his broad experience in European affairs will be extremely beneficial to NYSE Euronext as we are addressing a period of great change in our capital markets," said Dominique Cerutti, President and Deputy Chief Executive Officer, NYSE Euronext.
Mr. Halvey added, "We look forward to working with Mark, whose outstanding addition to our team is a significant step in our ongoing efforts to better facilitate an exchange of views on issues that impact the marketplace."
Mr. MacGann has more than 18 years of experience in government relations, legislative policy and public advocacy. Recently, Mr. MacGann served as the CEO Brussels & Belgium and Head of Public Affairs EMEA at Weber Shandwick. Prior to that, he was the chief lobbyist and media spokesperson for the digital technology industry in Europe, as head of DIGITALEUROPE. He also held senior positions at Brunswick LLP and Alcatel-Lucent. He holds Masters and Bachelors degrees in political science and economics from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Grenoble, France and Kingston University, England.
