Eiffage consolidates its presence in the Netherlands with the acquisitions of Harwig and Eltra

Eiffage, through Kropman, a Dutch subsidiary of Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, recently acquired a majority stake in both Harwig and Eltra, reinforcing its regional network in the Netherlands and adding to its expertise in the industrial market.

In April, Kropman acquired 70% of Harwig, a 190-employee company specialised in the design and construction of electrical installations including fire safety systems, as well as services and maintenance. In 2021, the company generated revenue of €26.7 million. With this acquisition, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes bolsters its electrical expertise and also gains a new speciality in the buoyant fire safety market.

In early July, Kropman also acquired a 65% stake in Eltra, a company involved in the design, construction and maintenance of manufacturing automation systems, as well as electric control. Thanks to its 60 exceptional employees, Eltra generated revenue of €11.4 million in 2021. With this transaction, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes enhances its expertise by bringing inhouse the previously outsourced manufacture of high-value technology systems.

Having acquired a 51% stake in Kropman in 2018, Eiffage consolidated its position in the company last April, increasing its holding to 65.7%. As a specialist in multi-technology electrical and mechanical engineering, plus contamination monitoring and control, the historically Netherlands-based Kropman generated revenue of €188 million in 2021 and employs 800 people.
