ARYZTA SUSTAINABLE SOURCING POLICY FOR NUTS & SEEDS

1. Introduction

ARYZTA is sourcing different types of nuts and seeds from different regions. We are aware that growing some of these commodities could lead to deforestation. Therefore, Aryzta will apply appropriate due diligence on nuts that we have assessed as having a particular risk of deforestation associated with their production.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all nuts and seed suppliers in our supply chain.

3. Sustainable Nut & Seeds Principles

The ARYZTA Supplier Code of Conduct lays out our minimum requirements and expectations towards all our Suppliers. In addition to the requirements outlined in the Supplier Code of Conduct, all our nuts and seed suppliers should be:

• Ensuring healthy and safe labour conditions and providing decent living conditions for migrant workers.
• Promoting the use of good agricultural practices, including nutrient management, pest management, and good environmental practices.
• Increasing the efficiency of water use, e.g. through trickle irrigation and engage in and promote water stewardship initiatives (where appropriate).
• Ensuring biodiversity preservation and no deforestation.

4. Commitment

Over time we will support all our suppliers to work with their supply chains towards the stated principles and to regularly show significant progress. Progress against the stated principles will inform our procurement strategy. This will be evaluated using accepted industry standards and certification schemes, such as:

• Rainforest Alliance
• Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI)
• Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) minimal silver level
• Organic certification
• California Almond Sustainability Program (CASP)
• International Sustainability & Carbon certification (ISCC)

While recognizing that standards are evolving and that we cannot expect all of our suppliers to comply today, we are strongly committed to only work with suppliers who can demonstrate compliance to the above stated standards and principles.
