Result on Geitungen appraisal well

Det norske oljeselskap ASA is as partner in production licence 265, in

the process of completing the drilling of appraisal well 16/2-19, on the

northern margin of the Johan Sverdrup field.

The well encountered a gross oil column of 4.5 metres in sandstones

believed to represent the Statfjord Formation. The partnership has

decided to drill a sidetrack well approximately 1,000 metres to the

southwest, with objective to clarify the northern extent of the Johan

Sverdrup main reservoir of the Draupne Formation sandstones.

The licensees in production licence 265 are Statoil (operator, 40

percent), Petoro AS (30 percent), Det norske oljeselskap ASA (20

percent), Lundin Norway AS (10 percent).
