StrongPoint ASA: Leadership change in StrongPoint
StrongPoint's Board of Directors and CEO Jørgen Waaler have during some time
worked on a succession plan for the CEO role. Jørgen Waaler, in his 62(nd) year
of age, has been with the company for more than 16 years, and would now like to
start a leadership hand-over of the company to his successor.
The Board of Directors are pleased to announce that they have recruited Jacob
Tveraabak, age 42, as StrongPoints next CEO.
After his degree in Business Administration from NHH, Jacob Tveraabak worked
with McKinsey & Company for more than 11 years - managing and executing on
numerous international projects around the world. In 2012 he joined
Reitangruppen/Rema 1000 as director of Business Development and Digital
Strategy. From 2016 he was the CEO of Miklagruppen (Bavaria Nordic) - a NOK 7
billion premium car dealership company.
Tveraabak will join the company April 3rd. The StrongPoint BOD recognizes the
importance of continuity including transfer of industry knowledge, customer
relations and a successful introduction to the StrongPoint organization. Hence,
Tveraabak will work together with Waaler during a transition period of four
months and he will formally take over the CEO role on August 1(st), 2018.
"I don't feel old, but everything has to come to an end. Nothing is better than
passing on the CEO role to an experienced, young, ambitious and dedicated
executive professional. I am really looking forward to welcoming Jacob, and I
will do everything possible to ensure his success of bringing StrongPoint to the
next level", says CEO Jørgen Waaler.
"The Board is confident that Jacob Tveraabak, with his extensive international
experience, will lead StrongPoint to the next level. At the same time, we honor
and thank Jørgen Waaler for having transformed the Scandinavian PSI Group to a
company that is well positioned to become a global recognized provider of retail
technology solutions. Jørgen has been developing StrongPoint into a NOK one
billion company, with seven years of consecutive dividends to the shareholders.
During his 16 years, he has built a unique culture with strong and shared values
across the organization. Jørgen will leave behind a strong legacy and a very
solid footprint, and we are very pleased that he will share his experience and
insight with Jacob during 2018" says chairman Svein Jacobsen.
