KID ASA - THIRD QUARTER 2018 RESULTS
Lier, 14 November 2018: The board of directors of Kid ASA has approved the
financial report for the third quarter of 2018.
Q3 HIGHLIGHTS (Figures from corresponding period the previous year in brackets)
· Revenues of MNOK 368.1 (MNOK 343.8) in Q3 2018, an increase of 7.1% (9.5%).
The number of ordinary shopping days in the third quarter was 78, compared to 79
days last year. For the first three quarters of 2018, revenues amounted to MNOK
924.5 (MNOK 876.1), up 5.5% (7.3%) from 2017. The number of ordinary shopping
days for the first three quarters was 226 (227).
· Like-for-like sales increased by 5.6% (5.1%) in the quarter and increased by
2.2% (4.3%) for the first three quarters.
· Gross margin of 63.1% (60.8%) in Q3 and 61.2% (60.8%) for the first three
quarters. The gross margin was positively affected by a lower hedged USDNOK in
Q3 compared to last year.
· EBITDA of MNOK 78.9 (MNOK 60.5) in Q3. For the first three quarters, EBITDA
was MNOK 108.9 (MNOK 89.3).
· Adjusted EPS increased to NOK 3.45 (2.99) for the last twelve months.
· The index for sale of home textiles in Q3 2018 in specialised stores in
Norway increased by 2.5% compared to an increase of 7.1% for Kid, according to
Statistics Norway. The latest accurate market statistic based on tax returns
data show a market growth of 0.8% for the twelve months ending 30.06.2018. For
the same period, Kid increased revenues by 5.7% and the market share to 34.2%
(32.7%).
· There were no changes in the store portfolio during the quarter. The total
number of physical stores at the end of the quarter was 140 (138).
· Strong pipeline for new stores. Jærhagen (Klepp), Lagunen (Bergen) and City
Lade (Trondheim) opens during Q4-2018. CC Vest (Akershus) will open during Q1
-2019. Stores in Kløverhuset (Bergen) and Laksevåg (Bergen) will close during Q1
-2019.
