Veidekke ASA: To build new regional offices in Bergen

Veidekke ASA: To build new regional offices in Bergen

Veidekke will start the construction of an environmentally certified office

building with a 6,500 m2 floor area at a central location in Bergen. 55% of the

building, which will be named Fantoftparken, is already leased, and will bring

together Veidekke's operations in the region. The construction contract is

valued at NOK 158 million excluding VAT.

In recent years Veidekke has increased its activities in Bergen. There has

therefore long been a desire to gather the overall business in a new regional

office with building, property and industrial operations. In partnership with

Instanes Eiendom (25%) and Thunes Holding (25%), Veidekke Eiendom (50 %) has

developed office premises at Fantoft in Bergen.

"In Fantoftparken we will put Veidekke's environmental ambitions into practice.

This will be Bergen's most sustainable office building, and that has also made

it possible to achieve good lending terms through so-called green financing from

DNB," says regional director of Veidekke Eiendom, Lars Rune Folkedal.

"We would like to congratulate Veidekke with a very future-oriented and

sustainable project. Fantoftparken's qualities and ambitions qualify for a green

building loan from DNB. We're looking forward to following Veidekke and their

strategy going forward in the green shift, with an aim of a significant boost in

sustainability related to property, building and construction," says client

manager with DNB, Truls Arnesen.

Fantoftparken will be certified in accordance with the BREEAM Excellent

environmental standard and has the support of Enova. There will be extensive use

of massive wood, and the building will also have significant own energy

production from solar panels on the roof. A dedicated battery system in the

cellar will ensure maximum utilisation of self-produced energy. Additionally,

the office building will be based on shared mobility solutions that minimise the

use of private cars.

Construction starts now, and completion is scheduled for February 2021.
