Veidekke ASA: To convert industrial property in Stockholm into microliving and coworking space

Veidekke's subsidiary Arcona has been commissioned by Aberdeen Standard

Investments and Ailon Group to undertake conversion of the property Påsen 15 in

Hammarby sjöstad, Stockholm. Work on the SEK 200 million design and build

contract is scheduled for completion in spring 2021.

Transformatorverkstaden, originally a 1940s industrial building, will be

converted into microliving and coworking office space.

"This is an exciting project in a characteristic Hammarby sjöstad building. We

are now working along several parallel tracks to ensure that the property is

long-term sustainable, says Christian Schjødt-Eriksen from the investment

company Aberdeen Standard Investments and Jacob Cronstedt from the property

developer Ailon.

"We appreciate being entrusted with the conversion of Transformatorverkstaden.

We have extensive experience from similar conversions and are very excited to

contribute to creating this new microliving/coworking concept," says Hans

Karlsson, project development at Arcona.

Transformatorverkstaden is located in a growth area of Stockholm - a lively

neighbourhood with new homes and offices, restaurants, cafes, school, grocery

shops, hotel and good public transportation. The old factory will retain its

industrial character, with tall windows, ceilings and beams, providing the

building with a characteristic look and identity. The architect for the project

is +Rolf.
