Virtual design tool

Reference is made to the stock exchange announcement of 22 October 2020 regarding information that the subsidiary Havyard Design & Solution AS has been chosen as the design developer for two new battery-powered ferries to be operated by Fjord1 ASA on inner Sunnmøre, Norway.

Through ten years of research and development work, including collaboration with Sintef Ocean, Havyard has developed a virtual design tool that is unique in a commercial context. The new ferries will now be the first projects to obtain the full benefits of the tool, where vessels can be carefully adapted to the operation they shall carry out, in the waters in which the vessels will operate, with great potential for savings in energy consumption and reducing emissions.
