Veidekke ASA: To build distribution centre for Leröy Seafood AB in Sweden

Veidekke ASA: To build distribution centre for Leröy Seafood AB in Sweden

Veidekke's subsidiary BRA (Billström, Riemer, Andersson) will build a new fish

and seafood distribution centre for Leröy Seafood AB in Kungälv, Sweden. The

client is Hagkroken Fastighets AB, and the design and build contract has a value

of SEK 115 million.

The seafood distribution centre will be one of the largest of its kind in the

region, with an area of 6,500 square meters. The facility is scheduled to be

ready for operation by Leröy Seafood AB in April 2022. Earlier this week,

representatives of Leröy Seafood, Kungälv municipality and BRA gathered in the

Arntorp industrial park, approx. 25 km north of Gothenburg, to kick off

construction of the project.

"This is a milestone for Leröy in Sweden. The new seafood facility is a huge

boost for our business and a big step towards improved environmental

efficiency," said Mattias Gunnarsson, Managing Director of Leröy Seafood AB.

With the groundwork completed during summer, the foundation will be poured and

the building frame installed in the autumn and winter. The building will

accommodate large areas for portioning and packing of seafood. Clad in Leröy's

blue and white colors, the facility will be surrounded by large parking areas

and greenery.

"This project, which is our first in Kungälv, is very important for Kungälv, the

customer and BRA alike. Together, and within a tight time frame, we will create

an outstanding facility, tailored to Leröy Seafood's business," said Anders

Nolander, Division Manager at BRA Bygg.

The Leröy project focuses on energy efficiency and the environment and will e.g.

utilise solar energy to help refrigerate the warehouses. The building will be

constructed in accordance with the Sweden Green Building Council's "Miljöbyggnad

silver" certification standard, which sets requirements for the handling of

building materials, energy use, ventilation systems, etc.

The contract is included in the order book for the current quarter.
