Following a search conducted by an independent agency, the Board of The Global Smaller Companies Trust PLC (the 'Company') is pleased to announce the appointment of Zoe King as an independent non-executive director of the Company with effect from 12 December 2024.  

Zoe is a Director of Evelyn Partners Investment Management Limited, where she has specialised in the management of private client portfolios for over twenty years.  Zoe is currently the senior independent non-executive director of Henderson High Income Trust plc and is also a member of the Trinity College Oxford Investment Committee, the Stramongate S.A Shareholder Advisory Committee and the Carvetian Capital Fund Investment Committee.

Zoe graduated from Oxford University in 1994 and began her career in fund management at Foreign & Colonial Investment Management, specialising in the management of institutional portfolios. In 1999, she joined the private client department of Merrill Lynch Mercury Asset Management, bringing an institutional approach to the management of private individuals' capital. She moved to NCL Smith & Williamson (now Evelyn Partners Investment Management) in 2003.

Zoe King, and her Persons Closely Associated to her, do not own any shares in the Company.

No further information is required to be disclosed under UKLR 6.4.8R in respect of this appointment.
