BCS introduces Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT) to their product portfolio
(Bergen, 16 June 2022): Bergen Carbon Solutions AS (BCS, OSE:BCS)
Bergen Carbon Solutions (BCS) is pleased to announce the introduction of new product MWCNTs to the product portfolio after successful independent third-party testing. The new product opens the door for BCS to another fast-growing market, which is multiple times the size of the CNF market.
Through the infrastructure invested in internal R&D and continuous process improvements BCS has succeeded in producing MWCNTs. The product has been tested at The Norwegian Centre for Transmission Electron Microscopy (NORTEM) in Trondheim. NORTEM is a joint venture of SINTEF, NTNU and UiO.
Hammad Majeed, Chief Innovation and Research Officer commented: “BCS is currently analyzing all the aspects of the inhouse produced MWCNTs and will soon launch it as one of our major products after detailed testing and its successful implementation in full scale factory production. As per initial testing BCS does not need to modify the technology in the factory design to a larger extent to produce MWCNTs. In General, MWCNTs have better conductive, thermal, and mechanical properties than CNFs and this breakthrough will open new, huge market opportunities for BCS in nano materials, especially in the battery industry.”
