# Market part of Telenor’s 2023-2024 share buyback programme finalised

On 20 April 2023 Telenor has finalised open market repurchase of the 2023-2024 buyback programme announced on 8 February 2023. The total programme comprises 31.1 million shares, of which 14.3 million shares were repurchased in the market. The remaining 16.8 million shares will be purchased from the Kingdom of Norway through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries and hence the Ministry's ownership interest in Telenor of 53.97% will remain unchanged.  

  

The 31.1 million shares will be cancelled following approval by the Annual General Meeting in May 2024. The shares that have been repurchased in the open market have had an immediate cash effect whereas the pro rata shares from the Norwegian state will be paid simultaneously with the capital reduction in mid-2024.  

  

The weighted average price for the 31.1 million shares was NOK 118.89.
