Veidekke: A new school in Stiklestad

Veidekke's subsidiary Grande Entreprenør and Verdal municipality have finally

signed a contract for the construction of Nye Stiklestad School. The commission

is a design and build contract worth about NOK 200 million excluding VAT.

Grande Entreprenør won the tender competition for the new school before the

summer holiday in 2023, but as a result of several rounds of complaints and

processing at the public complaints body KOFA, it has taken a long time to get

started on the project. Only in February was a contract drawn up for the

interaction phase, and after that representatives from Verdal municipality, user

groups and Grande have made great progress towards the final contract for the

construction of the school.

"The interaction process has meant that the municipality will have a better

school than what was in the original plans. Together, we have worked a great

deal on raising the quality of the areas and an outdoor area will be established

that would cause most other schools to envy the children in Stiklestad school

district. And all of this is within the current budget," says Morten Hynne,

General Manager of Grande Entreprenør.

The new Stiklestad school will have a gross area of approximately 4,800 m[2] on

two levels, located at the old plant nursery in Stiklestad. The school is being

built with a capacity of 250 students in years one to seven, and there will be

preparations for a later extension if needed.

"Now comes detailed project design and rapid contracting of subcontractors

starting tomorrow morning. The plan is to start physical work on the plot

immediately after the summer holiday with completion by Christmas 2025," Hynne

concludes.

The contract is included in Veidekke's order book for Q2 2024.
