Veidekke: Major office commission for Bara in Bergen

Bara Eiendom has commissioned Veidekke to build the new LINK office building in

Kronstadparken in Bergen. The 16,400 m2 building is to be environmentally

certified and Veidekke itself will be one of the tenants. The commission is a

design and build contract in collaboration worth NOK 504 million, excluding VAT.

"We have enjoyed good, continuous collaboration with Bara Eiendom for 14 years

and LINK will be the seventh office building in a row that we have built for

them. We are grateful for this renewed confidence and at the same time we are

looking forward to moving into what will be the largest building in

Kronstadparken to date," says Thor Småbrekke, district manager at Veidekke Bygg

Bergen.

LINK will be of high quality, in line with other new buildings that make up

Kronstadparken with a central location between Fjøsangerveien (E39) and Bergen

Light Rail. The building will be 16,400 m2 spread over eight floors above ground

and two basement levels with excellent cloakroom facilities, indoor cycle

parking and car parking, among other things.

Common facilities in the building include a meeting room centre, game zone,

podcast studio and a great in-house restaurant. The project emphasises

biodiversity, smart technology and smart use of resources, energy optimisation,

reuse and flexible solutions for easy rebuilding if this should be needed in the

future. On the roof, there will be a garden inspired by nature with a large

percentage of native vegetation, as well as production of fruits, berries,

vegetables and herbs. The building is to be certified according to the BREEAM

-NOR Excellent standard and energy class A.

Ground and basement works will start in June, while the rest of the construction

works will start shortly afterwards. Planned completion is in December 2026. The
