Duiven, the Netherlands, January 16, 2008, BE Semiconductor Industries N.V. ("the Company" or "Besi") (Euronext: BESI), a leading manufacturer of assembly equipment for the semiconductor industry, today announced preliminary revenues and orders for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2007.
Revenues for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2007 is expected to be approximately € 44 million, an increase of approximately 23% as compared to revenues of € 35.9 million for the third quarter of 2007 and above the Company's guidance for the fourth quarter of a revenue increase of 10-15%.
Orders for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 totaled approximately € 43.5 million, an increase of approximately 30% as compared to orders of € 33.4 million for the third quarter of 2007 and above the Company's guidance for an order increase of 10-15%. The Company's backlog at December 31, 2007 was slightly lower compared to its backlog of € 48.8 million at September 30, 2007.

Blickman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, commented, "Our preliminary revenues and orders for the fourth quarter of 2007 indicate a healthy rebound from the third quarter of 2007 where we confronted headwinds caused by disruptions from the restructuring of Besi into "one company", customer caution in purchasing additional assembly equipment capacity and a rapidly declining US dollar. We have made significant progress in our restructuring this quarter but continue to operate in a challenging industry environment with limited visibility as to the direction of near term orders. We will issue complete results for the fourth quarter and audited year 2007 and hold a conference call with investors and analysts to discuss our full results and outlook on Wednesday, February 20, 2008."

Duiven, 16 januari 2008, BE Semiconductor Industries N.V. ("Besi") (Euronext: BESI), een toonaangevende leverancier van machines voor de assemblage van halfgeleiders rapporteert vandaag de voorlopige omzet en orderontvangst in het vierde kwartaal van 2007.
De omzet in het vierde kwartaal 2007 zal naar verwachting uitkomen op ongeveer € 44 mio, een stijging van ongeveer 23% ten opzichte van een omzet van € 35,9 mio in het derde kwartaal 2007 en hoger dan de verwachte omzetstijging van 10 tot 15% in het vierde kwartaal 2007.
De orderontvangst in het vierde kwartaal 2007 bedroeg in totaal ongeveer € 43,5 mio, een stijging van ongeveer 30% ten opzichte van € 33,4 mio in het derde kwartaal 2007 en hoger dan de verwachte stijging aan orders van 10 tot 15% in het vierde kwartaal 2007. De orderportefeuille per 31 december 2007 was iets lager dan de orderportefeuille van € 48,8 mio per 30 september 2007.

Wij hebben met de reorganisatie in het vierde kwartaal aanzienlijke vooruitgang geboekt, maar we blijven opereren in een uitdagende industrie met – zoals kenmerkend beperkt zicht op orders in de nabije toekomst. Wij zullen de volledige vierde kwartaal- en jaarresultaten 2007 rapporteren op woensdag 20 februari 2008 en tevens op die dag een conference call houden om de resultaten te bespreken."
