BE Semiconductor Industries Announces Sale of Brunssum Tooling Facility

Duiven, the Netherlands, September 4, 2008, BE Semiconductor Industries N.V. ("the Company" or "Besi") (Euronext: BESI), a leading manufacturer of assembly equipment for the semiconductor industry, today announced the sale of its former Fico Tooling BV facility in Brunssum, the Netherlands for € 0.5 million in cash to a private investor. The sale of the 16,000 square foot facility will result in a one-time pre tax gain of € 0.4 million in the third quarter ending September 30, 2008.

Richard W. Blickman, Chief Executive Officer of Besi commented, "Consistent with our Dragon restructuring activities, we are pleased to announce the sale of our Brunssum facility which follows the successful sublease as of July 1, 2008 of an excess 40,000 square foot Drunen production facility. Such actions underscore our efforts to redeploy our production assets to focus on lower cost Asian production activities."

BE Semiconductor Industries kondigt verkoop gebouw Brunssum aan

Duiven, 4 september 2008, BE Semiconductor Industries N.V. ("Besi") (Euronext: BESI), een toonaangevende leverancier van machines voor de assemblage van halfgeleiders heeft vandaag bekend gemaakt dat het voormalige Fico Tooling B.V. gebouw in Brunssum is verkocht aan een lokale ondernemer voor een bedrag van € 0.5 miljoen. De verkoop van dit gebouw levert een eenmalige bate voor belasting op van € 0.4 miljoen in het derde kwartaal van 2008.

Richard Blickman, Chief Executive Officer van Besi, lichtte toe: "Als gevolg van het Dragon herstruktureringsprogramma is het gebouw in Brunssum verkocht. Daarnaast is leegstaande produktieruimte in Drunen per 1 juli 2008 verhuurd. Deze akties zijn het gevolg van het besluit om produktie aktiviteiten te verhuizen van Europa naar Azië".
