HOORN – Nieuwe Steen Investments NV announces that Mr C.J. (Cees) Busscher (1953) will join NSI as Country Manager for the Netherlands per 1 May 2009. Furthermore, NSI has recently sold five retail properties to several investors. The sales volume amounts to $£16$ million.
After the sale of twelve properties during Q4 of 2008 NSI has again sold five properties. The rental income of the sold properties amounts to $\epsilon$ 1.18 million. The properties are sold just over the book value per end of 2008. Three properties are already transferred, two will be transferred at the end of March 2009.
As part of NSI's strategy the number of properties in its portfolio will be reduced by means of divesting small, management-intensive properties. The proceeds will be used to pay off debt in the short term and to reinvest in larger properties in Switzerland and in the Netherlands at a later stage.

The transaction involves a super market with an apartment in Prinsenbeek, a super market with an apartment in Ulvenhout, a super market with lock-up shops in Eindhoven, a super market with lock-up shops in Raalte and a shopping centre in Tilburg.
At present Cees Busscher is Managing Director of Dura Vermeer Vastgoed BV, a Dura Vermeer Groep NV's property development company. He has a long standing experience in several senior management positions in the real estate industry. At NSI, Cees Busscher will be in charge of the Dutch activities, with an emphasis on asset management, property management and construction & development. His joining will further professionalize the organisation and will bring knowledge in the area of adding value to the portfolio by extending and redeveloping properties.
