Amsterdam Commodities (Acomo) meldt dat de activiteiten zich in het derde kwartaal van 2009 verder positief ontwikkeld hebben en dat de resultaten positief waren en in lijn zijn met de gunstige trend van het eerste halfjaar. Er was met name sprake van een geleidelijke normalisering en verbetering van de handel in en distributie van voedingsgrondstoffen en ingrediënten voor de voedingsmiddelenindustrie. Wij zijn positief gestemd betreffende deze activiteiten voor de rest van het jaar en over heel 2009 bekeken.
Na de sterke terugval van de wereldwijde vraag naar rubber en de omzetten in het eerste halfjaar zag men een stabilisatie van de vraag tijdens het derde kwartaal, gepaard met hoge prijsvolatiliteit en per saldo hogere prijzen. Door de aanhoudende moeilijke marktomstandigheden is het verdere verloop voor de rest van 2009 nog onzeker.
Directie en commissarissen bevestigen hun verwachting dat 2009 opnieuw een goed jaar voor de aandeelhouders zal zijn.

Amsterdam Commodities (Acomo) reports that the activities in the third quarter 2009 continued to develop positively. Trading was profitable and in line with the positive trend of the first half year. In the trade and distribution of food commodities and ingredients for the food industry we saw a gradual normalisation and improvement of the business. We forecast good results for these activities for the rest of the year and for the year 2009 overall.
Following the strong decline of the worldwide demand for rubber and much lower sales in the first half year, there was a stabilisation of the demand in the third quarter, accompanied with high price volatility at higher price levels. In these persistent difficult market circumstances, the outcome for the remainder of the year is still uncertain. Management and Supervisory Board confirm their earlier expectation that 2009 will again be a good year for the shareholders of Acomo.
