Docdata announces that its German subsidiary Berlin Optical Disc (BOD) GmbH in Berlin is sold today to Deutsche Unternehmensbeteiligungen GmbH (DUBAG) in Munich. Docdata and DUBAG have closed a binding agreement in this respect, encompassing the acquisition of all shares in Berlin Optical Disc (BOD) GmbH per transaction date of 21 July 2010. Details on the (financial) conditions of the agreement will not be disclosed at the specific request of DUBAG.
Berlin Optical Disc (BOD) GmbH realised a revenue of about EUR 8 million in the financial year 2009 with media production activities, predominantly consisting of replication of CD's and DVD's. These media production activities of her German subsidiary were fully written off at fair value by Docdata per the end of the 2009 financial year. The remaining book value of these assets and liabilities are reported in the 2009 Annual Report of DOCDATA N.V. as assets and liabilities classified as held for sale.
The DOCDATA N.V. management believes that this transaction will offer a better perspective on the future for the company in Berlin and its employees, since Docdata considers this activity as a non-strategic operation.
