First Huawei smartphone that can connect directly to Go internet's network is presented

Bologna, 5 November 2015 – Today Huawei and GO internet presented the first Huawei rugged smartphone that can connect directly to GO internet's network in the 3.5 Ghz frequency.

The presentation will be followed by the eLTE Workshop organized by Huawei, a global leader of ICT solutions, and GO internet in Bologna on Friday 6th November.

"The new Huawei rugged smartphone opens the path to important commercial developments for GO internet, with the possibility of creating innovative services. The new smartphone will grant our customers a wireless connection to our network without the need for a GO Box" said Flavio Ubaldi, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Sales of GO internet S.p.A.

"Huawei's constant investments in Research and Development, that represented 14% of the annual turnover in 2014, are the key factor in our technological leadership. Huawei's ability to innovate is meant to foster the intelligent growth of the territory with advanced technologies and solutions, such as eLTE Mobile Access and eLTE Trunking, that contribute to the creation of an increasingly complex, efficient and reliable ecosystem even in case of emergency" said Alessandro Cozzi, Country Director Enterprise Business Group of Huawei Italia.

After the launch of the new LTE technology, thanks to a four-year agreement with Huawei, and in light of the constant growth recorded over the last year, with customer acquisition reaching +38% compared to 2014, GO internet intends to grasp new development opportunities also considering the current positive development stage of the Italian wireless broadband market.

The 4G wireless LTE technology is rapidly growing at a global level with over one billion subscribers expected by the end of the year. According to a report by ABI Reasearch, by the end of 2015 there will be about 1.37 billion subscribers with access to LTE networks, almost doubling the 650 million subscribers recorded at the end of 2014.
