San Donato Milanese (Milano), 7 luglio 2016 – Saipem si è aggiudicata nuovi contratti e variazioni contrattuali nel segmento E&C offshore per un valore superiore a 1,5 miliardi di euro. Il contratto principale riguarda il progetto di sviluppo del campo gas di Zohr, il giacimento di gas "supergiant" situato al largo della costa egiziana nel mar Mediterraneo.
Petrobel ha assegnato a Saipem un contratto di ingegneria, approvvigionamento, costruzione e installazione (EPCI) per la prima fase di sviluppo di Zohr, la cui realizzazione avverrà secondo una tempistica accelerata. Petrobel, joint venture tra Eni e EGPC (Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation), è responsabile per lo sviluppo di Zohr per conto di PetroShorouk, joint venture tra EGAS (Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company) ed Eni.
Il contratto comprende l'installazione di una condotta del diametro di 26 pollici, per l'esportazione del gas e condotte di servizio da 14 e 8 pollici, nonché lavori EPCI per lo sviluppo in acque profonde (fino a 1700 mt) di sei pozzi e l'installazione di cavi ombelicali. I lavori inizieranno a luglio 2016 ed è previsto che si concludano entro fine 2017.
Per assicurare che il piano di sviluppo accelerato sia rispettato, Saipem mobilizzerà una flotta di mezzi navali altamente qualificati, composta dal Castorone, la nave posa-tubi di ultima generazione specializzata nella posa in acque ultra-profonde, la nave posa-tubi Castoro Sei, il pontone per la posa e l'interro di condotte Castoro 10 e numerosi altri mezzi specializzati.
"Siamo molto contenti di essere stati selezionati per il raggiungimento di un obiettivo così importante, la produzione del primo gas da Zohr entro la fine del 2017" ha commentato Stefano Cao, Amministratore Delegato di Saipem. "Metteremo in campo una flotta che comprenderà navi con caratteristiche tecniche di ultima generazione, e faremo leva sulle nostre comprovate capacità e la nostra consolidata presenza nell'area, affinché venga assicurato il raggiungimento degli obiettivi dei nostri clienti."
Il campo gas di Zohr è stato scoperto da Eni nell'agosto del 2015, utilizzando la nave di perforazione Saipem 10000, che sta ancora operando nell'area.
Saipem ha inoltre negoziato diverse variazioni dello scopo del lavoro su contratti E&C Offshore esistenti in altri paesi.

San Donato Milanese (Milan), July 7th, 2016 – Saipem has been awarded new contracts and variation orders in E&C offshore, for an overall amount in excess of 1.5 billion euros. The most significant contract relates to the Field Development Project for the "supergiant" Zohr gas field, located off the Egyptian coast in the Mediterranean sea.
Petrobel has awarded Saipem an Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Installation (EPCI) contract for the accelerated start-up of the development project for the Zohr Gas Field. Petrobel, a joint venture between Eni and EGPC (Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation) is in charge of the development of Zohr on behalf of PetroShorouk, a joint venture between EGAS (Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company) and Eni.
The scope of work of the contract encompasses the installation of a 26-inch gas export trunkline and 14-inch and 8-inch service trunklines, as well as EPCI work for the field development in deep water (up to 1700 metres) of 6 wells and the installation of the umbilical system. Work will start in July 2016 and is due to be completed by the end of 2017.
In order to ensure that the accelerated development schedule is met, Saipem will mobilize a highly capable fleet of vessels to carry out offshore operations, consisting of the ultra-deepwater last generation pipelayer Castorone, the semisubmersible pipelayer Castoro Sei, the trench/pipelay barge Castoro 10, and other specialized vessels.

The Zohr gas field was discovered by Eni in August 2015, using the drillship Saipem 10000, which is still operating in the area.
Furthermore, Saipem has agreed to various changes in the scope of work on existing E&C Offshore contracts in other countries.
