Tiscali e EOF (Enel Open Fiber): accordo preliminare per la fornitura di connessioni in fibra ottica sulla rete FTTH realizzata da Enel Open Fiber e offrire agli utenti Tiscali performance di accesso alla rete fino ad 1 Gigabit al secondo.

Cagliari, 20 Luglio 2016 - Tiscali, tra le principali società di telecomunicazioni in Italia, e Enel Open Fiber, società del gruppo ENEL nata per la realizzazione dell'infrastruttura di rete in fibra ottica sul territorio italiano, rendono noto di aver firmato oggi un accordo preliminare per la fornitura di connessioni end to end per l'accesso alla rete in fibra ottica FTTH (Fiber To The Home) realizzata da Enel Open Fiber. In questo modo, i due gruppi intendono avviare una partnership per la realizzazione e commercializzazione della rete di telecomunicazioni a banda "ultra larga" in alcune aree del territorio italiano.

"L'accordo con Enel Open Fiber assume per Tiscali un significativo valore strategico perché integra in maniera complementare l'attuale piano di sviluppo della rete di Accesso LTE 4G Fixed Wireless che Tiscali ha iniziato ad implementare. Grazie all'accordo con Enel Open Fiber Tiscali potrà infatti fornire servizi UltraBroadBand su tutto il territorio nazionale: attraverso la soluzione LTE 4G Fixed Wireless nelle aree Digital Divide e utilizzando la rete in FTTH di Enel Open Fiber altrove, garantendo ai nostri utenti performance di accesso alla rete fino a 1 Gigabit al secondo." ha dichiarato Riccardo Ruggiero, AD di Tiscali.

L'accordo è in linea con il piano italiano per la banda "ultra larga" promosso dalla Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri e con gli obiettivi dell'Agenda Digitale Europea 2020, e persegue la strategia italiana per la banda ultra larga presentata a marzo 2015. In relazione al piano, EOF realizzerà una rete di telecomunicazioni a banda "ultra larga" in modalità FTTH nelle aree non a fallimento di mercato con l'obiettivo di infrastrutturare i comuni selezionati e raggiungere quindi una copertura pari all' 80% delle unità immobiliari presenti in ciascun comune.

Tiscali si inserisce in questa strategia tutta italiana anche attraverso la partnership oggi siglata, commercializzando il proprio prodotto in modalità FTTH sulla rete realizzata da EOF a partire dai Comuni di Venezia, Catania, Cagliari, Napoli, Perugia, Genova, Palermo, Firenze, Padova, e con l'obiettivo di estendere la fornitura ai comuni in cui la stessa rete verrà sviluppata.

TISCALI, SIGNED A PARTNERSHIP WITH ENEL OPEN FIBER FOR IMPLEMENTATION AND MARKETING OF A ULTRA BROADBAND TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORK IN ITALY

Tiscali and EOF (Enel Open Fiber): Preliminary agreement for the supply of fiber optic connections on the FTTH network built by Enel Open Fiber and to provide Tiscali users with network access performance up to 1 Gigabit per second.

Cagliari, 20 July 2016 - Tiscali, one of the leading telecommunications company in Italy, and Enel Open Fiber, a companies of the ENEL group created for the infrastructure construction of the fiber optic network in Italy, announce that they have signed today an agreement for the provision of end-to-end connections for access to the fiber optic network FTTH (fiber to the Home) built by Enel Open fiber. In this way, the two groups intend to launch a partnership for the development and commercialization of a ultra broadband telecommunications network in Italy.

The agreement with Enel Open Fiber has a significant strategic value because it complements the existing plan of the 4G LTE Fixed Wireless Access Network that Tiscali has begun to implement. Thanks to this agreement with Enel Open Fiber Tiscali will indeed deliver ultra-broadband services in Italy by using both the 4G LTE Fixed Wireless solution in Digital Divide areas and the FTTH network in Enel Open Fiber elsewhere, ensuring our users access network performance up to 1 Gigabit per second." The agreement is in line with the Italian plan for the ultra broadband promoted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the European Digital Agenda 2020, and pursues the Italian strategy for ultra broadband presented in March 2015. In relation to the plan, EOF will build up an ultra broadband telecommunications network in FTTH mode in areas not of market failure with the aim of serve municipalities selected with infrustructures and then reach a coverage equal to '80% of the units in each municipality.

Tiscali is part of this Italian strategy also through this partnership signed today, by marketing its product in FTTH mode on the network built by EOF starting from the municipalities of Venice, Catania, Cagliari, Naples, Perugia, Genoa, Palermo, Florence, Padua, and with the aim of extending the supply to the municipalities in which the same network will be developed.
