San Donato Milanese (Milano), 1 giugno 2017 – Saipem ed Eni hanno firmato oggi un contratto relativo ad attività di perforazione offshore in Mozambico, che impegnerà la drillship Saipem 12000, della durata di 15 mesi a partire dalla metà del 2019. Esso prevede opzioni fino a un massimo di 45 mesi, non incluse nel valore contrattuale.
Oltre a tale contratto, che consentirà all'azienda di partecipare allo sviluppo del giacimento Coral, Saipem si è aggiudicata altre commesse nell'ambito della perforazione offshore. Le attività relative alle ulteriori acquisizioni si svolgeranno nel Mediterraneo e nel Mar Nero e vedranno impegnati alcuni mezzi di punta della flotta aziendale. Il valore complessivo delle acquisizioni ammonta a 230 milioni di USD.
In particolare, è stata assegnata da parte di Eni l'attività di perforazione di due pozzi nell'area offshore di Cipro, che avrà inizio nel quarto trimestre del 2017 e in cui verrà utilizzata sempre la Saipem 12000. Successivamente il mezzo sarà destinato all'esecuzione delle attività in Portogallo già assegnate nel corso del 2016 e posticipate su richiesta del cliente.
Queste aggiudicazioni segnano il consolidamento dell'azienda nell'area del Mediterraneo in cui è già in attività la Saipem 10000 e ne rafforzano la presenza in un mercato di particolare interesse che ha fatto registrare recentemente importanti scoperte.
Lo Scarabeo 9, invece, sarà impegnato nella perforazione di un pozzo, più un altro opzionale, nel Mar Nero. Il mezzo, in servizio dal 2011, ha in corso modifiche tecniche di natura innovativa, le cui spese sono incluse nel contratto, che ne consentiranno l'attraversamento del Bosforo. Tale fatto riveste particolare importanza in considerazione delle interessanti opportunità di perforazione nelle acque ultra-profonde presenti nell'area del Mar Nero.

San Donato Milanese (Milan), June 1, 2017 – Saipem and Eni have today signed a contract for offshore drilling activity in Mozambique, utilising the drillship Saipem 12000. The contract is of 15 months' duration commencing mid-2019. It includes options up to a maximum of 45 months, not comprised in the contract value.
In addition to this contract, which will allow the Company to participate in the development of the Coral field, Saipem has been awarded other offshore drilling contracts. The activities related to the other acquisitions will be executed in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea and will utilise cutting-edge vessels from the Company's fleet.
The total value of these new contracts is \$230 million.
Significantly, Eni has awarded Saipem a contract for the drilling of two wells offshore Cyprus. Work will once again be carried out by the Saipem 12000 and commence in the fourth quarter of 2017. The vessel will be subsequently deployed in Portugal for operations previously announced in 2016 and postponed at the request of the client. These awards attest to Saipem's consolidation in the area of the Mediterranean where the drillship Saipem 10000 is already active. They also reinforce the Company's presence in a market of particular interest where important discoveries have recently been made.
Finally, the semi-submersible rig Scarabeo 9 will be utilised for the drilling of one well, plus an optional one, in the Black Sea. In service since 2011, the Scarabeo 9 is undergoing innovative upgrades, whose expenses are included in the contract. These upgrades will enable it to pass through the Bosphorus. This is a particularly important development in view of the interesting opportunities for offshore drilling in ultra-deep water in the Black Sea area.
