Following the press release of 9 January 2023, ForFarmers and 2Agriculture announce that they have decided to abandon the proposed joint venture plans. The parties have taken into consideration, among other things, the current impact on their respective businesses, the duration and costs involved and the impact this process has on both employees and farmers.
ForFarmers UK and 2Agriculture announced their intention to merge their businesses into a joint venture on 1 July 2022, to better serve farmers' needs through a balanced feed portfolio across species. ForFarmers and 2Agriculture continue to believe that the joint venture would have made for a robust business, with improved expertise and presence across species, to successfully meet the changing demands from the entire value chain. This included helping farmers realise the transition towards a more sustainable way of farming with enhanced returns. The proposed joint venture would have invested in driving improvements and optimising services in the most efficient manner, with a focus on further improving production efficiency and feed quality to the benefit of both farmers and end consumers.

Volgend op het persbericht van 9 januari 2023 kondigen ForFarmers en 2Agriculture aan dat zij hebben besloten af te zien van de voorgestelde joint venture plannen. De partijen hebben bij het besluit onder meer rekening gehouden met de huidige impact op hun respectieve bedrijven, de duur en de kosten die ermee gemoeid zijn en de impact die dit proces heeft op zowel werknemers als boeren.
ForFarmers UK en 2Agriculture maakten op 1 juli 2022 hun intentie bekend om hun activiteiten te fuseren tot een joint venture, om met een gebalanceerde voerportfolio voor alle sectoren beter aan de behoeften van boeren te kunnen voldoen. ForFarmers en 2Agriculture blijven van mening dat de joint venture een robuust bedrijf zou hebben opgeleverd, met verbeterde expertise en bereikbaarheid over de sectoren heen. Daarmee zou met succes hebben kunnen worden voldaan aan de veranderende eisen van de hele waardeketen, waaronder het helpen van boeren bij het realiseren van de overgang naar een duurzamere manier van boeren met een hoger rendement. De voorgestelde joint venture zou hebben geïnvesteerd in het op de meest efficiënte manier verbeteren en optimaliseren van diensten. De focus zou zijn geweest op het verder verbeteren van de productie-efficiëntie en voerkwaliteit ten voordele van zowel boeren als consumenten.
